Commercial debt recovery Wolverhampton

Most businesses are faced with unpaid invoices. It can be the result of bad debtors, customer leniency and lack of the right resources to go after customers that don’t want to pay. Unfortunately, for most businesses, it is better to write off the debt than engaging a debt collection agency to help because of the high cost and the fear that the relationship between the business and the customers will be destroyed.

CPA works hard to help you recover your money and keep your customers. We have a professional and highly diplomatic approach that has been very successful and has seen us collect over £30 million since we established in 1993. Most of our clients are now repeat clients that use our services regularly.

Our debt collection service

Q: Between writing off the debt and hiring an expensive debt collection agency, which is more practical?

A: It’s true that there are some debt collection agencies that are very expensive. This is because they attach a setup fee to their recovery fee. CPA charges based on a sliding scale that is dependent on the age of the debt. We don’t charge a setup fee when the debt is passed on to us.

In the case of commercial debt, the EU Late Payment Directive provides that we recover our costs from the debtor.

Q: Should I be worried for my customers because of your dodgy bailiffs?

A: CPA only uses bailiffs that have been approved by the court after the proceedings. However, this is only our last resort. It is rare that a debtor will opt to go to court because it only adds to the cost. Most will prefer to set up a payment plan or just settle the debt. Even though we are firm with debtors, we are also very fair and we always try to keep the good relationship with them where we can.

Q: I have an invoice that should have been paid two years ago. Is it possible to collect on it now?

A: We can pursue debts that are up to 6 years old and in some cases even longer. There are many factors that determine after how long it is impossible to collect on a debt and the main one is the outstanding county court judgment. If you’re not sure whether you should pass on your debt to us, give us a call now. Our team of experts will advise accordingly.

Q: I’m I guaranteed that you will be able to collect the debt?

A: We always do our best to provide you with the best results. However, in isolated cases, for unique reasons, we might fail to collect on the debt. In these cases, we ask for a discontinuance fee from £65. If you decide to stop the recovery process for whatever reasons, the same fee applies.

Q: Do you offer tracing services for debtors who move without notice?

A: In case the debtor moves and does not leave the new contact, we offer tracing services. We work closely with a team of expert tracers who have vast experience. With their help, we can able to locate the individual.
