Commercial debt recovery Grantham

There are many factors that lead to a business getting bad debts and unpaid invoices. These can range from bad luck with clients, leniency with the debtors and lack of enough time to follow up on the debts. As much as these debts can hamper the growth of a business, most of the companies still opt to write off the debts than hiring a debt collection agency because of the high costs and the risk of ruining customer relations with the business.

At CPA, we ensure that we adopt a professional and diplomatic approach to debt recovery when recovering money from a debtor. With our approach, we have been able to recover more than £30 million in debts since 1993. Many of our clients are now repeat clients that use our services on a regular basis.

Our debt collection service

Q: Is it not better to write off a debt than hiring expensive debt collection agencies?

A: Our fees are on a sliding scale and are determined by the age of the debt that you pass on to us. Unlike most debt collection agencies, we don’t charge a large setup fee in addition to the recovery fees. In fact, we don’t charge setup fees at all.

In most cases, for commercial debt recovery, we recover our costs from the debtor courtesy of the EU Late Payment Directive.

Q: Won’t you ruin the relationship with my customers with your dodgy bailiffs?

A: Unfortunately, this is a common belief but a very wrong one.

We adopt a very diplomatic approach to debt recovery and court action is the very last option. In most cases, most debtors will opt to pay the debt or set up a payment plan instead of incurring the added legal costs. If we have to use bailiffs, we only use those that are approved by the court and do our best to maintain that good reputation that you built for your business.

Q: Can I collect on an invoice that should have been paid two years ago?

A: Yes. It is possible to collect on a debt that is up to six years overdue and in some cases, even longer. However, there are some factors that determine how long overdue the debt should be and the most influential one is the outstanding court judgment. If you’re not sure whether we can collect your debt for you, you can fill out an enquiry form from our website or give us a call and our team of experts will advise you accordingly.

Q: If you fail to collect the debt what happens?

A: Sometimes no matter how hard we try, we might not be able to recover the debt for you. When this happens, we only ask for a discontinuance fee that starts from £65. We may also ask for an equal amount if you decide to discontinue the recovery process for whatever reason.

Q: What if the debtor moves and does not pass on their new contact information?

A: We offer a tracing service that can help find the debtor. We work with a team of highly skilled expert tracers who gives us the best chance of finding any person.
