Obtaining a County Court judgment is the first step. Once you have obtained the judgment, there are various ways in which a debt can be enforced.
The High Court Sheriffs now deal with the enforcement of any debts over £600.00. Unlike the County Court Bailiffs the High Court Sheriffs do not need to give advance notice of a visit. Another difference to the Bailiffs is that they are commissioned on the sums they collect, and therefore some would argue they are more proactive in their investigations.
They provide a fast and effective method of recovering the debt, along with additional interest and fees and where the execution is successful there is no cost to you the creditor, as costs of recovery are levied from the other side.
